The true value of disaster information does not lie solely in the availability of data and information. The Deputy Permanent Secretary for Security and Welfare at the Ministry of Home Affairs stated the matter during the Opening Ceremony of the Sixth AHA Centre Information Management Network, AIM-Net Meeting and Workshop. Organised by the National Disaster Management Centre, the event was held at a hotel in Gadong.
Dayang Nor Hamidah binti Haji Hamidon said that true strength lies in the collective ability to process and translate information into precise operational actions, especially in acting as a key catalyst in efforts to save lives and minimize disaster risks. The meeting, jointly organised with the Cambodian side, is a strategic platform in strengthening data sharing protocols and leveraging digital technology towards more efficient, informed and resilient disaster management.
